writer, director, producer
Rachelle Younie (she/her) is a writer, director and producer drawn to stories about loss, grief, and mental health. She has written, directed and produced two short films that have screened at the Vancouver Island Short Film Festival (2023) and Chilliwack Independent Film Festival (2024). In 2023, Rachelle was selected as one of the 15 filmmakers for the Vancouver International Film Festival Catalyst Program, an accelerator program for emerging filmmakers. Her feature screenplay, Assistance in Dying, has been a finalist and semi-finalist in two international screenplay competitions and has received funding from Creative BC to develop the feature film.
when not making or watching films, Rachelle can be found performing improv with momentous comedy, spending time with her cat Wanda (the namesake of Rachelle’s production company, Wanda Films), or doing witchy things in the woods with her friends.
Rachelle is available for writing (script consultation, story and script editing) and directing work.
